Appsavvy raises $3 mil to sell ads across social media
Appsavvy, a New York City-based startup focused on selling ads across social media apps, has received $3.1 million in first round funding. Investors included True Ventures with additional investment from About.com Founder Scott Kurnit.
The company, founded last year, sells direct ads on social media applications. Apps companies working with the Appsavvy include Flixster, FrozenBear, MesmoTV, Playfish and SGN, among others.
The company also just announced a deal with NBCU, where it will be the exclusive sales provider of NBC News iCue, a social media app launching on Facebook this month. The app sounds pretty cool to us – it’s built around hundreds of historical videos from the NBC News Archives.
