Neal, Escobedo new to Press-Enterprise
Ginger Neal has been named VP and GM of multimedia ventures for the Press-Enterprise Co. in inland California. Neal will be charged with growing revenue for PE.com, the company’s Web site, as well as new online initiatives to expand the company’s multimedia portfolio which includes partnerships with Cars.com, HomeScape and Yahoo HotJobs. Neal was previously VP of business development for Freedom Orange County Interactive, affiliated with the Orange County (Calif.) Register.
The company named Frank Escobedo GM of Hispanic media, and publisher of La Prensa, one of its Spanish-language weeklies. The Hispanic community in The Press-Enterprise’s region is expected to grow to more than 2 million by 2012, which will represent almost 50% of the population.
The Press-Enterprise Co. is a Riverside-based subsidiary of Belo Corp. The newspaper has a daily circulation of 164,189 with 172,730 on Sunday. PE.com comprises some 30 micro-local sites.
