‘Mobilizing’ in Canada

Canadian media companies are beginning to ‘mobilize’. This month, Workopolis — “Canada’s biggest job site” — added a mobile service, following Quebecor / Sun Media’s Canoe and Transcontinental’s The Hockey News in September. The Toronto Star has offered mobile news for more than a year; Yellow Pages Group’s YP.ca has also been mobile for some time, though the functionality hasn’t yet been added to YPG’s Trader.ca. Mobile is swell for jobs, news and hockey…and especially for news about hockey jobs. But it will be a “killer app” for automotive and real estate, and there’s no sign of that yet from Canada’s mobility nobility.
