RealEstate.com has acquired Tampa, Fl.-based New Homes Realty, an online real estate company operating in 11 metro areas across the U.S. with a network of 200 agents and brokers.  The company operates NewHomes.com which will now be run by RealEstate.com.

The purchase pushes RealEstate.com (owned by LendingTree, which is a Tree.com company) into six new markets including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, and the Washington, DC/Capital region.

Prior to the acquisition, RealEstate.com operated in 14 markets across the U.S. with more than 1,100 sales agents.
