Google is laying off some 100 of its recruiters because it’s reducing its hiring rate, according to a post on the official Google blog by Laszlo Bock, VP of “People Operations.” Bock said the first step was to wind down most of its contracts with third parties but that wasn’t enough: “Given the state of the economy, we recognized that we needed fewer people focused on hiring.”
