SNA winners in local community Web site contest

Suburban Newspapers of America has announced the winners of its Local Community Web Site Contest for 2009. The competition was divided into 4 classes:

– Class A – sites produced by daily newspapers with a total circulation over 40,000: Sioux City Journal / Lee Enterprises, Inc.

– Class B – sites produced by daily newspapers with a total circulation of 40,000 or under: The Post-Star / Lee Enterprises, Inc.

– Class C – sites produced by a non-daily newspaper or group with a total circulation over 100,000: Toronto Community News / Metroland Media Group Ltd.

– Class D – sites produced by a non-daily newspaper or group with a total circulation of 100,000 or under: The Brooklyn Paper / Brooklyn Papers

SNA also gave an award to the Innovator of the Year (open to all circulation classes) to: Ian Caldwell, online editorial content manager and Bryan Stokes, programmer for Metroland Durham Region Media Group.

The contest was judged by the Missouri School of Journalism and sponsored by Classified Avenue.
