Canwest daily to skip Mondays

One of Canada’s oldest daily newspapers is the latest in a line of North American media outlets to announce it will cease publishing its Monday edition in light of “challenging economic times.”

The Victoria Times Colonist, a division of the financially beleaguered Canwest Global Communications Corp. announced in a story on its site it has decided to cease its Monday publication on June 22 with news coverage being expanded to its Tuesday print edition and site, timescolonist.com.
