A good read: Will your paper start charging for content?
There’s an article in the Atlantic today with the catchiest headline ever: “Shhhh. Newspaper Publishers Are Quietly Holding a Very, Very Important Conclave Today. Will You Soon Be Paying for Online Content?“
It’s about a meeting reportedly being held today out by Chicago’s O’Hare Airport involving top executives from key U.S. newspaper chains, hosted by the Newspaper Association of America.
The agenda? Well, the headline gives it all away, but the program title is “Models to Monetize Content.”
Entertainingly written by James Warren, who discloses that he is among the recently RIF’d from a shedding Chicago Tribune.
