New job aggregator searches freelance online projects

A new vertical search engine that aggregates freelance online jobs or projects has launched. Similar to sites such as Indeed.com, DoNanza searches across job sites but in this case only those that offer positions that can be done online independent of geographic location – i.e., the jobs that are available on eLance, oDesk, Helium, RentACoder and others.

The idea is timely as more and more companies turn to outsourcing to minimize cost and risks in a down economy.

DoNanza’s aggregation interface will be familiar – a list of jobs with links to specific job sites. You can search by title and category, then filter by price range, time left until bidding on the job closes, and whether you’re interested in a fixed price or hourly rate.

There’s also a function to share a job search via Twitter, Facebook or e-mail. The site doesn’t take a cut of jobs booked but features substantial Google advertising.

And in keeping with its own philosophy, the company outsourced the development of the entire DoNanza site (including design and development to Inkod-Hypera in Tel Aviv).

One caveat: these types of jobs are usually over-run by outsourced developers in India and the Former Soviet Union. So expect some stiff competition.
