Online job demand in the United States

It’s a little difficult to tell if the United States job news is good, bad or indifferent , as reported by The Conference Board, with data provided by Wanted Technologies Corporation.

The report headline states that online job demand is down 66,700 in June but of the 50 states, 24 gained in number of postings while 26 dropped. Overall, since March there has been a modest growth of 35,000 jobs. The 20 most populous states all have more unemployed residents than there are advertiseds jobs. The vacancy ratios, however, vary from a promising two to one in Maryland to a dismal ten to one in Michigan.

Online advertised vacancies rose in June for Arts, Design, Entertainment, and Sports categories, while demand dipped for Sales, Computer, Mathematical and other white collar categories. No change was noted in the demand for Construction and Legal workers.
