High Gear Media raises $5.5 million for auto sites
High Gear Media, which publishes some 38 different automotive Web sites, has raised $5.5 million in equity from undisclosed sources. In the past, the Palo Alto, Calif., startup raised a round of venture capital from Accel Partners and Greylock Partners.
High Gear first came on our radar when it purchased The Car Connection. Other sites in High Gear’s online automotive suite include GreenCarReports.com, AllAboutPrius.com, and AllCarsElectric.com.
The Car Connection has a deal with Oodle to power its classified advertising.
