Management carousel turns (yet again) at EBay.de
Frerk-Malte Feller, 34, took over from Stephan Gross-Selbeck as CEO of EBay.de six months ago and now he’s on his horse again – to Australia. And EBay.de gets a new CEO – the third in 5 years.
EBay.de announced that Feller will be replaced by Dr. Stephan Zoll, 39, until now head of EBay Advertising in Germany. Feller has been redeployed to Australia, where he will be responsible for developing Paypal, reported the German e-magazine InternetWorld.de. Before taking over from Gross-Selbeck in January this year, Feller spent 4 successful years as head of Paypal’s subsidiary for the German-speaking region.
EBay took the opportunity to merge a number of senior management posts into one: Apart from his responsibilities as CEO of EBay, Zoll will remain head of advertising, head up the sales division and accept responsibility for the business with the power sellers. This could be done, because some functions had been taken away from EBay’s head office in Berlin at the end of last year, said InternetWorld. Among the functions taken away, were marketing (now handled out of EBay’s European head office in Switzerland) and the area Marketplace (handled in London).
