Trulia updates app for IPhone, IPod Touch
Real estate search site Trulia.com just released version 3 of its app for IPhone and IPod touch, now available in the App Store. With a database of 3.5 million homes, the IPhone/IPod app has been downloaded more than 300,000 times.
Updates:
* Moveable Maps – Users can now toggle the Trulia map to find homes in chosen areas, and can change their search area directory from the screen.
* Price Reduction Search – With a touch of a button, users can now search for all the price-reduced homes in a specific area.
* Augmented Reality Browser Integration – This allows users to scan all area properties available while they look at the actual buildings through their screen.
“The growth of apps has exploded in the past 18-months,” said Trulia co-founder and CEO Pete Flint, in the announcement. “We introduced our app for IPhone and IPod touch to the market in summer of ’08 and we have seen an increase in usage every month since its introduction. Just last month more than 500,000 searches were conducted via the Trulia App.”
Peak app usage hours typically occur on Sunday as shoppers actively search for open homes. The ten most popular cities for searches are: Philadelphia, San Francisco, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Manhattan, Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Austin.
The Trulia App is available from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/ . For information on new Trulia features for agents and brokers, see AIM Group’s prior coverage.
