Craigslist in the theater: ‘Sex and disaster’
It’s a “thoughtful riff on sex and disaster.” That’s just what we need these days, no? But anyone who follows Craigslist may be interested in “Boom,” a play by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb about a guy who posts an ad in Craig’s “casual encounters” section seeking “Intensely significant coupling. … Have sex to change the course of the world.”
Opening tonight at the “Theatre! Theatre!” venue in Portland, Ore., it runs through Feb. 6. It’s described as “hip, profane and funny” by director JoAnn Johnson.
Too far for us to drive (all the way from Florida) and probably too cold, too. But then, we’ve never yet gotten to see the movie “24 Hours on Craigslist” which came out in 2005, either.
