“We believe that mobile can have a significant impact on business models because of its link with someone´s location. Search is now a function of location. But we still have a long way to go. Only a few per cent of our visitors uses a mobile phone.”

Coppo intends to continuously tweak Marktplaats.nl, for instance, by improving searchability and adding specific product information. Recently, EBay-owned Marktplaats.nl launched a new section on parenting and a new site, Hippas.nl, targeting fashion addicts.
