Did you notice? AIM Group debuts job board for global media careers

Today, we officially launch AIMGroup.com/jobs, a global job board for media careers.

It seemed a logical extension of our services. Countless times in the past decade, we’ve been asked by clients and colleagues about career opportunities — either professionals seeking or companies looking.

We had been kicking around the idea for a few years, and when Adicio told us about its upcoming new “lite” platform, we jumped on board. (See related story.)

Quite honestly, we’re not expecting the job board to become a huge business driver. If it drives traffic, we’re content enough.

We’re charging an extremely modest $30 per single 30-day ad, $45 for a single 60-day posting, plus some upsells. That we’re charging it all keeps the board free of fraudulent job ads

Does this put us in competition with our friends at Monster, CareerBuilder, HotJobs, Stepstone, TotalJobs, Seek, Naukri and others? Technically… hmm. Yes. Does this put us in their league? Not in this lifetime. We’re just one more of an estimated 100,000 job boards worldwide.

That said, we will operate it with all the professionalism you would expect from us, which is why we chose a professional technology solution.

Job-seekers can build or upload multiple resumes, save searches and set e-mail alerts. Employers can create their own ads, their own profiles, add photos and videos, manage jobs and manage resumes as they have come to expect on full-featured platforms.

Employers will also have the ability to search resumes posted here. Since there are currently no resumes to search — we’ve only been live a few days — we’ve turned that function off until we reach a fair number of resumes.

We didn’t wish to get ahead of ourselves, so we launched with simple, toe-in-the-water ad products. We have the ability to create bulk packages and even automatically index the jobs posted on your own corporate sites (called “wrapping” in Adicio parlance.) If those are services that appeal to you, give us a call and we’ll set you up.

We’ve launched with a modest bit of inventory, picked up from other sources on the Adicio network. There are currently more than 800 U.S. jobs specific to careers in publishing, broadcasting and Web, from ad sales to editors to Web developers. But our landing page allows seekers to access about 24,000 jobs in Adicio’s national network.

We’ll do our part to grow this inventory, marketing it in our electronic products and reaching out to potential employers. We will also concentrate on our international reach, so it’s not just American jobs.

We’re excited about it. It’s a nice product with tons of features, and we hope it helps you fill your career and employment needs.
