CareerBuilder, as part of an international expansion and focus on more industry niches, just announced its acquisition of UK-based CareerSite.biz. The nine-year-old firm operates StaffNurse.com, RailwayPeople.com, and VirtualFair.co.uk, and focuses on providing efficient online niche jobs platforms for print publications.  With this expansion, CareerBuilder will provide detailed niche job sites for nurses, midwives and health care assistants; rail professionals, and those who’d like to take part in virtual career fairs.

While the terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed, CareerBuilder has said it will retain the names of each site. What the announcement also fails to disclose is whether CareerBuilder will continue the CareerSite print-publication relationships.

“The acquisition of Careersite.biz delivers on our commitment to gain access into key sectors of the workforce to support our clients hiring needs in the UK and across Europe,” said Farhan Yasin, President of CareerBuilder Europe and Middle East, in the announcement.

CareerBuilder will now have sites in more than 24 countries across the globe.
