Kayne Grau has been promoted to VP of technology at Cars.com. He’ll be leading a team of 70 engineers with a budget of $11 million annually.

Grau joined Cars.com as director of development in 2008; last year, he took on responsibility for technical operations and quality assurance last year. Two of the recent technology projects in his department were the launch of a mobile site and an IPhone app for Cars.com, and the company also launched a new “guided navigation system” helping car buyers refine their search results quickly to find good matches.

Before joining Cars.com he worked for Allstate Insurance, CA (Computer Associates), Direct TV, EToys and several other companies in technology positions.
