Recruitment advertising recovery in U.S.

More positive signs for recruitment advertising in the U.S. economy. The Conference Board, a private research organization that publishes the monthly “Help Wanted Online” index, today noted that online advertised vacancies rose slightly in November – the fourth monthly increase.

The number of vacancies online rose by 47,400, to 4.5 million. That’s an increase of 1.2 million since the official end of the recession in June 2009. But there were still more than three people unemployed for every job advertised, the Conference Board reported.

Demand increased for healthcare and technical workers in November, while postings for sales and sales-related workers dipped.

“Demand for workers continued to be positive, albeit moving at a disappointingly slow pace for the last few months,” June Shelp, Conference Board VP, said in the news release. Read the full release.
