RingierAxelSpringer buys auto portal in Serbia

The Serbian subsidiary of Swiss-based RingierAxelSpringer (RAS) acquired Mojauto.rs, the second biggest auto portal in Serbia, for an undisclosed amount, the company announced today. RAS is the 50:50 joint venture of Swiss media group Ringier and German media group Axel Springer with a focus on Eastern Europe.
In the same media announcement (here) RAS revealed that its Serbian subsidiary had acquired the Serbian subsidiary of the Swiss company Media swiss already in January this year. The company Media swiss is a subsidiary of Ringier. It’s Serbian business owns and operates Nektretine.rs, a leading real estate portal in Serbia.
Jelena Drakulić-Petrović, general manager of RAS in Serbia, said, “These are important steps in the expansion of our digital portfolio in Serbia. We will develop the two brands into strong platforms for online users and business partners.”
Mojauto also publishes a printed auto magazine. In future the auto portal and magazine will have access to the expertize of RAS, which publishes the auto magazine Auto Bild in several countries in Eastern Europe, and operates the auto portal Auto.cz in the Czech Republic.
The acquisition of Mojauto.rs still has to be approved by the anti-trust authorities of Serbia, RAS said.
The Serbian subsidiary of RAS is Serbia’s leading publishing group, according to RAS. It’s portfolio includes a number of print titles and sites (among others Blic, 24 Sata, Puls, NIN and Auto Bild). “Blic.rs, Pulsonline.rs and Zena.rs are among Serbia’s most-visited portals,” the company said. Other online destinations in the digital portfolio of RAS Serbia are online shop Nonstopshop.rs and travel portal Superodmor.rs.
