Scripps real estate ad dollars way down

According to its fourth quarter 2011 earnings report, E.W. Scripps’ real estate advertising revenue fared the worst of all the classified categories, with a year-over-year loss of 12 percent. Automotive had dropped 8.1 percent, employment ads 5.2 percent.  Scripps newspapers include Knoxville (TN) News Sentinel, Memphis (TN) Commercial Appeal,  and Ventura County Star in Calif.. Scripps also owns 19 TV stations in 11 states, as well as comic strip and news content producer United Media.  Here is the complete release.
