Axel Springer in Germany to cooperate with Groupon?

There has not been an official confirmation yet, but rumours are out that Germany’s biggest daily, Bild, is going to cooperate with Groupon in Germany. The Media Blog Meedia writes that “internal sources at Axel Springer” have leaked the information. You find the full story in Germany language here.
Daily Deals are a big trend among German newspapers at the moment, quite some sites have been launched during the recent months and more are to come. So far publishers have refrained from cooperating with Groupon (that in Germany is very active for it acquired its quite successful clone Citydeals.de one year ago).
However, there is quite some likelyhood that Axel Springer is willing to work with Groupon. Just at the end of March 2011 it became known that Robert Bosch (39), who has held several managing positions in digital business at Axel Springer during the last ten years and has worked as Managing Director Business Development latest; has been appointed Senior Vice President Business Development EMEA at Groupon.
