Blox Classifieds by TownNews.com
Though it has barely begun to roll out to the nearly 300 publisher clients of TownNews.com that are already using the Blox content management system, Blox Classifieds is officially launched. There are some very nice features here. Our favorite is the ability to combine similar classifieds – such as all sports equipment listings, or all event tickets listings, or all pet listings – into one block, to be displayed as a widget anywhere on the publisher’s site.
As Blox product manager Christine Masters explained to us, a newspaper that had a golf section could create a block of golf accessories listings, and run that in the golf section. The ad reps could even upsell these free private party listings as featured, to include the display in the golf section.
Blox adds mobile-only stats to traffic reports
If you’re using the TownNews.com Blox CMS and Ad Manager platform for your site’s news and advertising content, later this week you’ll be able to exclusively study the traffic your mobile platform and apps are bringing in. For those who want to enable mobile advertising, this could be quite handy. Mobile traffic reports, via the just-announced upgrade, can be delivered separately.
