Oh Craig! Time for honest answers
Here’s an interesting description of Craig Newmark, or “the Craig behind Craigslist” as he’s often referred to:
“I’m a hard-wired nerd with symptoms I’m told border on Asperger’s Syndrome. That means I’m too trusting, often socially inept, have difficulty shifting focus, and frequently am unsure what to do in situations others handle easily. CNN adds commercial “non breaks” to keep eyeballs
In an effort to keep viewer eyeballs on advertising messages, CNN has recently launched the commercial “non-break” – an advertising commercial that runs while the CNN newsroom is still live on the screen. While it’s not going to appear on every CNN show, its debut will be on the popular John King news show which runs in the early weekday evenings. The advertising message will be front and center of the TV presentation, but along the bottom that typical news alert scroll will add a live view of the CNN newsroom – with typical behind-the-scenes goings on. Audio will be only that of the advertising message.
John Moore, EVP and director of media services at Interpublic Group, told Advertising Age that marketers are shockingly open to giving up some of their screen space and time, in the wake of DVRs’ drive of consumers from commercials. “The challenge is thinking about what’s in it for the consumer,” Moore told Advertising Age.

CBS Eyemobile goes mobile with new iPhone app
Citizen journalism is moving to the iPhone. CBS has announced that its new CBSeyemobile.com site now has a free iPhone app that is available from the iTunes App store for users who want to submit photo and video content.
Eyemobile for iPhone will allow users to upload content from their iPhones as well as to view what others are uploading while on-the-go.
Other TV networks already have citizen journalism sites. CNN has iReport and Fox News is pushing the similarly named UReport. Even the Associated Press has an iPhone app.
Another service, IAMNEWS, calls itself “an open newsroom powered by you” and aims to allow independent journalists to collaborate online. The site is currently by invitation only.
