Facebook Places: monetization comes later
Facebook just announced its new geo-location Places, a mobile product for the U.S. only. The announcement came from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the company’s Palo Alto cafeteria.
While advertising is not part of the feature mix (at least yet), local businesses can still benefit from Places. Users will be able to share where they are with their Facebook friends, see which friends are nearby, and find places in the area as well.
