We’ve got a category at the AIM Group we call YACLWs — “yet another Craigslist wannabe.” Today we’re officially adding a new category: “Yet another ‘Aw shucks, I’m just little ole me, Craig Newmark’ interviews.”
This week’s offender is Inman News, a site we generally admire tremendously. Yet the ridiculous, for-no-apparent-reason Craig Newmark interview this week on Inman News is just silly. Or stupid. Or really, offensive, since none of the important questions that could have been asked of Newmark were asked.

New Inman News hires, including CEO
Inman News, independent real estate news, information and technology service, just announced the appointment of Tim G. Smith as CEO, effective immediately. Former president of Upside Events, Smith also served as VP for Fawcette Technical Publications and SR global events director for Oracle Corp.
“I’m tremendously enthusiastic about joining such a dynamic organization at a very pivotal time in the real estate industry,” Smith said in the announcement, adding that he looks forward to “driving new programs, technologies, content and events that will further position Inman at the forefront of the industry.”
Additionally, Volker Heistermann, former sales VP for investment banking firm Rutberg & Co., is the new Inman VP of conference sales; Nikki Baldwin, who was regional sales account manager for Fidelity National Real Estate Solutions, is now Inman News group sales manager.
Former MarketTools controller Raymond E. Mok is to be the new controller for Inman News; and Fanny Seto brings SEO, search marketing and blogging experience to her new marketing assistant role at Inman News.
