According to Marta Fioni, Vivastreet business development manager in Italy, Vivastreet.it is standing strong eight months after its launch. The free generalist classified ads platform, available to local communities throughtout Italy, is part of W3 Limited, a company with a registered office on the Channel Island Jersey and offices in London, Biarritz, New York and Sao Paolo.
Ebay Annunci introduces new measures against fraud

Part of the mission of Ebay Annunci, the Italian free, local ad platform, has always been to protect users and ensure the service is reliable, secure and transparent. Two years after its launch, Ebay Annunci exceeds 3 million ads – a major milestone for the site. In the last 12 months it grew the number of ads by more than 170 percent (over 45,000 listings every day).
Now the website has launched important new security features, including a ’criminal report’ (with a detailed analysis of online fraud and constant monitoring aimed at finding new tools to combat fraud), a phone number available to all users and a protection service for PayPal buyers.
With the growth of the site investment in offline advertising campaigns has also increased. Ebay believes in the effectiveness of television for its marketing campaigns. The last TV campaign aired on major national and local broadcasters (with four 15-second spots) was successfully launched in November 2011, according to Ebay Annunci.
Italian start-up Homply.com clones Nestio.com

Homply.com is an Italian start-up operating in the real estate classified area and mirroring the model of the American platform Nestio.com. It was launched on Feb. 20 by Alessandro Santo, who worked in the venture capital industry (dPixel) before, and Pietro Montelatici, who worked in the field of online real estate and established Trecision, a successful video games company, before getting involved with Homply.com.
