Jobsite Group becomes Evenbase
Evenbase is the new name for A & N Media’s stable of recruitment sites and technology providers – a collection previously known as the Jobsite Group. The move is part of building a B2B entity with global aspirations and according to Strategy Development Director Felix Wetzel the Jobsite name is being played down as part of “transforming from a job board business to a recruitment business.”
Wetzel explains that the new name minimizes confusion between the B2C job board offer and the group’s wider strategy. There is a hint here as to what that is since Wetzel notes that the new name “avoids being limited by geography, sector or topicality” suggesting that Evenbase’s sights are set on markets beyond the U.K.
The Evenbase stable includes Jobsite but also niche and vertical job boards such as Oilcareers, NHS Jobs and multi-posting software provider Broadbean all of which will be organized as four business units each with a Managing Director. Those units are Job Boards (MD Mike Wall), Business Solutions (under Heather Wozniak), Software (based on Broadbean and run by Dan Martin and Kelly Robinson), and New Ventures (MD Ray Duggins).
All of these units will report to Keith Potts who moves from Group MD to CEO of Evenbase, a role change that will see his priorities shift from operations to strategy.
Jobsite uses RadiumOne social targeting
Leading U.K. recruiter Jobsite has opted to use RadiumOne social targeting following a positive trial of the company’s suite of tools including RadiumOne Display, Rewards, and Mobile.
Katy Stanton, Digital Acquisition Manager at Jobsite said: “It’s exciting to trial pioneering technology to reach new and existing job candidates. Whether it be through TV, search engine marketing or our sponsorship of Portsmouth FC, we are constantly looking at new innovations to attract excellent candidates on behalf of our clients. The ability to reach new audiences to ensure our recruiters find the right person and manage multiple activity through RadiumOne will be hugely valuable and we look forward to seeing the results at the end of the eight week campaign.”
RadiumOne claims to accurately target anyone who engages with Jobsite’s campaigns and works by building a picture of users’ connections and interactions. Rupert Staines, Managing Director of RadiumOne, said: “Brands are starting to realise that social connections matter and the exponential growth of sharing across the web is fundamentally changing the way in which audiences can be better targeted. Shared interactions have become a much more powerful indicator of people’s preferences and interests. Jobsite is highly innovative in its approach to its marketing and is constantly looking for original ways to communicate with existing and new candidates. We’re delighted to be working with an organisation with such a refreshing approach to its brand campaigns and we’re relishing the challenge of increasing the number of registrations to Jobsite.”
Behavioural marketing hasn’t had an easy ride in the U.K. not least thanks to the high-profile setbacks and objections when a number of ISPs trialled Phorm but the growth of social networks has brought with it an increasing acceptance of automatic profiling of connections and interaction.
Renewable Energy niche for JobSite
Building on its existing energy portal OilCareers.com, JobSite is launching RenewablesCareers.com for the renewable energy sector including solar, wave, and wind power industries.
The new portal will come under the wing of OilCareers.com whose managing director Mark Guest comments that, “Existing OilCareers.com clients who recruit in the renewables sector will instantly benefit from exposure of their vacancies to the niche market, whilst job-seekers will benefit from the site focused purely on jobs catered to the green energy industry.”
JobSite aims to raise profile with sponsorships
U.K. jobs portal JobSite.co.uk will be providing headline sponsorhip for not one but three recruitment events in the forthcoming months: #truManchester, Onrec, and Mobile and Video in Recruitment.
Felix Wetzel, group marketing director, said, “We carefully selected these three events to sponsor as they all share great synergy with the issues we’re focused on as a business.”
While Onrec and the Mobile and Video are probably better known Wetzel’s association with the “unconference,”‘ #truManchester goes beyond sponsorship (or “unsponsorship” as the conference calls it) since he can also be found blogging about the #truUnconferences series and has previously been a speaker at the #truLondon event.

Niche recruitment site LegalProspects.com with re-design
British niche recruitment Web site LegalProspects.com, a specialist job board for the legal sector, launched a re-design of the site on October 27. The re-design is a complete makeover with a new logo, free text search (with drop down menus to drill in on specific legal positions), links to recruiters, and an easy way for job seekers to post resumes. The site makes money by charging employers for posting job openings. LegalProspects.com is service of U.K.-based Jobsite.
