Gumtree.pl has become one of the major players among job classifieds platforms in Poland within just one year. In March last year it wasn’t even listed among the top 20 most popular Polish job classified sites – now it is in fourth place.

Gumtree.pl received 1.2 million unique users in Mar. 2013, according to the most recent Megapanel PBI/ Gemius. This achievement gives it the fourth place, behind the job portal GazetaPraca.pl (1.3 million unique users), Pracuj.pl (1.7 million unique users), and the leader WP.pl (Orange Group) with 2 million unique users. The latter, however, doesn’t collect own job listings, but duplicates the listings of Pracuj.pl and MonsterPolska.pl.

Measured by the number of job listings, Gumtree.pl stands even stronger in the job classifieds market. It has 40,369 jobs listed, which is almost double the number Pracuj.pl has (21,382 listings) and four times more than GazetaPraca.pl (about 10,000 jobs). Pracuj.pl and GazetaPraca.pl are outnumbered also by Gumtree’s direct and biggest competitor in Poland – Allegro’s fast-growing Tablica.pl. This general classifieds platform has 39,700 jobs listed today, which puts it in second position.

The huge popularity of the jobs category on Gumtree.pl can be explained by the pricing policy of the company: it takes only a fee from users who post more than one job in the jobs category. This fee was introduced on Apr. 2, 2013, and is – depending on the province – 29 Polish złotys ($8.9 U.S.), or 19 Polish zlotys ($5.8 U.S.) per listing for 30 days. This is far less than competing portals charge. For example, the cost of one listing for 14 days on Pracuj.pl is 390 Polish zlotys net ($120 U.S.), and on GazetaPraca.pl it is 320 Polish zlotys net ($98.5 U.S.).

Gumtree.pl is doing just as well in other verticals in Poland: it is 12th in the auto vertical (481,509 unique users) and 5th in the real estate vertical (617,326 unique users), according to the Megapanel / PBI of March, 2013.

Very popular is also the Gumtree.pl app for Android, which was made available on Mar. 27 this year. Currently, it is ranked ranked Nr. 3 among free apps in the category “Lifestyle” in Poland.

HomeFinder.com will donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for every RE/MAX agent who enters the HomeFinder.com Agent Makeover Sweepstakes

Chicago, Ill., May 20, 2013 – HomeFinder.com, a leader in digital marketing solutions for real estate agents and online real estate, today announced that it is teaming up with RE/MAX to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMN Hospitals). For every RE/MAX agent who enters the 2013 HomeFinder.com Agent Makeover Sweepstakes through August 16, 2013, HomeFinder.com will donate $1 to CMN Hospitals, a North American nonprofit organization that raises funds for 170 member children’s hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children’s health issues.

RE/MAX agents who enter to win the HomeFinder.com Agent Makeover Sweepstakes have the opportunity to win a two-night trip to Chicago to receive a business and style makeover, while contributing to the RE/MAX commitment to CMN Hospitals. HomeFinder.com and RE/MAX both share the same values: a loyal commitment to agents and Broker/Owners, and a dedication to the communities in which RE/MAX agents live and work.

“Giving back is ingrained in the RE/MAX culture, and our agents are always willing to step up to help better the lives of sick children and their families in their communities,” said Mike Reagan, Senior Vice President of RE/MAX Business Alliances and member of the CMN Hospitals Board of Governors. “RE/MAX agents are also serious about delivering the best results and service for their clients, and entering this fun sweepstakes provides a great opportunity for them to gain expert insights to rejuvenate their businesses while supporting a cause that’s long been close to their hearts.”

RE/MAX proudly supports Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and RE/MAX agents have donated more than $128 million to their member hospitals – primarily through the Miracle Home® program, where agents make a contribution to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with each closed real estate transaction.

“Real estate agents do so much to serve their communities and clients, and the HomeFinder.com Agent Makeover Sweepstakes is one way we can thank these agents,” said Doug Breaker, President and CEO, HomeFinder.com. “Teaming up with RE/MAX is a great way for us to give back to its network of agents and the communities in which they serve.”

As the real estate industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, HomeFinder.com wants to provide the winners and thousands of participants with valuable information on how to stay one step ahead in this new marketplace. Compared to a year ago, The National Association of REALTORS® reports rising home prices resulting from low inventory, and also anticipates that mortgage interest rates will remain steady. RE/MAX agents have the opportunity to be one of five randomly chosen winners flown to Chicago and receive the tools needed to navigate this changing real estate environment.

The winners will network with industry leaders, receive online marketing training with a professional business coach, and gain insight on how changes in their personal lives can benefit their business.

Additional training will include:

· Why Google is a crucial part of online marketing success

· How to become experts in their local markets

· The importance of making a commitment to technology

· How to become the agent with whom clients and other agents would like to work

All licensed real estate agents are eligible to enter the sweepstakes, and five randomly chosen real estate agents will receive an all-expenses-paid, two-night trip to Chicago from Sept. 18-20, 2013, for a full business and style makeover. The style makeover will include a personal styling session, head-to-toe outfit, new hairstyle, makeup consultation and a professional photo shoot. Contestants may enter the sweepstakes twice: once by visiting www.homefinder.com/agentmakeover, and once via http://www.Facebook.com/homefinderdotcom.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that there were just over half a million jobs advertised in the U.K. in the three months to April 30th 2013 which is the highest figure over three months that has been seen since 2008. Even that comparison is hardly fair since the 2008 figure was a three month period from October to December when typically the market is buoyed by seasonal jobs.

More Canadian Real Estate Agents to Target Chinese Buyers via Real Estate Channel Deal with Juwai.com

(Shanghai, China) – Canadian real estate professionals can now market their listings to Chinese buyers automatically from within a popular industry marketing solution. This results from an exclusive partnership between Canada’s only real estate television network, Real Estate Channel and the No. 1 Chinese international property portal Juwai.com.

Chinese are the world’s fastest-growing property buyer demographic. Chinese buyers spent US$28.7 billion on residential property around the world in 2011. And statistics show their increasing interest in Canadian property:[i]

In Montreal, 50% of the market for luxury single-family homes consists of foreign buyers, primarily from China and other nations.

In Vancouver, 40% of such purchases are made by Chinese and other international buyers.

In Toronto, 25% of such purchases are made by Chinese and international buyers.

How It Works

Under the terms of this new partnership, The Real Estate Channel’s real estate agent customers will see their properties automatically listed on Juwai.com. Juwai.com is now the exclusive Chinese real estate portal for The Real Estate Channel and its customers.

The partnership will help Canadian property owners obtain better prices for their homes, and sell them more quickly.

Rapid Growth in Chinese Buyers

Chinese buyers make up the fastest growing real estate buyer group in countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Pacific. They spent US$7.2 billion on overseas property in 2009. This is projected to climb to US$114 billion by 2015.

CEO Quotes

Leon Ng, Founder of The Real Estate Channel, said: ”Real estate agents have been asking us to make it easy for them to market to the Chinese buyers who are so active in Canada today.

“This partnership with Juwai.com enables us to significantly increase an agent’s chance of selling property more quickly and at a higher price.

“As long as they are Real Estate Channel customers, they get that benefit without having to do anything new. They will be able to tap a huge market with no extra effort.”

Juwai.com Co-Founder Simon Henry said: “We are delighted to work with The Real Estate Channel to make it easy for real estate agents to reach our high-net-worth Chinese users.

“This is good news for Canadian home owners. It means they can be confident that agents working with The Real Estate Channel will sell their homes as quickly and for as much as is possible.

“Canada is always a popular destination for our users. We see it in the search statistics.

“Chinese buyers have a voracious appetite for overseas property investments. One-third of Chinese millionaires have assets in Canada and other overseas countries.[ii] And, this pool of wealthy buyers will expand at a 20 percent compound annual growth rate over the next three years[iii].”

U.K. property portal Zoopla is raising awareness of the potential for social media marketing by publishing a leaderboard of the most influential agents in the country in terms of their re-tweets, mentions, and followers. Although the avowed aim of the Top 100 is to highlight the most active agents the move is clearly intended as an incentive to encourage others to increase their Twitter reach. It should also help generate healthy discussion about good practice since the portal is already offering tips and how-to’s. Presumably a Facebook top Forty is in the pipeline.

At Polish media group Agora SA gross operating profit rose from Q1 FY2012 to Q1 FY2013, despite the fact that revenue dropped, the company said today.

The division Internet** (including classifieds portals such as Trader.com and Agora SA) reported a 24 percent rise in gross operating profit, even though revenue dropped 2.7 percent. Revenue added up to 25.1 million Polish zloty ($7.73 million U.S.) in Q1 of FY2013. The structure of the revenue changed over the period: income from online advertising climbed slightly (1 percent) to 19.7 million Polish zlotych ($6.06 million U.S.), while income from classifieds dropped massively (-16.7 percent) to 4 million Polish zloty ($1.23 million U.S.) from Q1 last year to Q1 FY2013, the company said.

Agora ascribed the revenue drop to lower sales of combination offers (print/online combinations) and lower revenue earned by real estate sites. Revenue of the division Internet was hit by the closure of printed newspapers (withdrawal of combo offers) by Trader.com (Poland) and the suspension of the group-buying service HappyDay.

Despite these revenue declines, Agora still earned a gross operating profit of 3.1 Polish zloty ($954,455 U.S.) in Q1, which was 24 percent more than a year earlier. This was done by reducing operating costs (laying off workers and limiting marketing expenses) in Agora’s Internet division and Trader.com (Poland). In Q1 FY2013 the operating expenses of the Internet division decreased by 6.1 percent to 23.2 million Polish zloty ($7.14 million U.S.).

Agora also presented its forecast for the Polish advertising market in 2013. It expected total online ad spend to grow by 2 to 5 percent from 2012 to 2013.

**Included in the Internet division is recruitment site GazetaPraca.pl, automotive portal Autotrader.pl and real estate portal Domiporta.pl, Agora Ukraine, Trader.com (Poland), AdTaily and Sport4People.
