Axel Springer announces new CEO and CFO at Stepstone
Stepstone’s CEO Colin Tenwick and CFO Ian Cole have left the company as a direct consequence of the sale of StepStone’s software division Stepstone Solutions to European private equity investor HgCapital for a purchase price of EUR110 million, a deal that was completed in May this year. Advertising, news staff changes at Paddock
Kelly (Casalino) Bolyard, who heads up online and classified sales for Paddock Publications, has additionally been named director of digital development for the media group, it was just announced.
Formerly director of business consulting at Morris Communications, Bolyard came to Paddock and its suburban-Chicago Daily Herald in 2005.

Auto Trader’s Miller takes helm at Guardian Media Group
Andrew Miller, CFO of Guardian Media Group and previously CFO of Trader Media Group (publisher of classifieds title Auto Trader) takes over as CEO at the Guardian Media Group. He replaces Carolyn McCall who leaves to become chief executive of budget airline easyJet.
Miller was key in the sale of 49.9 percent of Trader Media Group to Apax with which GMG now runs the classifieds arm as a joint company.
Amelia Fawcett, chair of GMG said of Miller that he “knows how to drive successful digital transformation and has led large-scale financial transactions.”
OLX Portugal appoints Brazilian chief as new country manager
Free-classifieds company OLX seems to want to focus more on the development of business in the small southwestern European markets. The company, founded in 2006 by the Internet entrepreneurs Fabrice Grinda and Alec Oxenford, has named its Brazilian country manager Rodrigo Ribeirão as new country manager for Portugal. Rightmove.co.uk MD sells nearly half his shares
The founding managing director of U.K. property market-leader Rightmove.co.uk, has sold almost half his ordinary shares in the company.
Ed Williams is reported to have sold 1,136,068 ordinary shares at an average price of 699.9325p per share, shares which he has held since the 2006 flotation. At the flotation Williams was awareded 1,271,927 ordinary shares, equivalent to just over 1 percent.
Simon Waldman leaves Guardian Media Group
Simon Waldman, onetime launch editor of leading U.K. newspaper site Guardian Unlimited and until recently Guardian Media Group’s director of digital strategy, has left to join DVD subscription service LoveFilm.

Eric Laffont takes over at AutoScout24
Eric Laffont, former marketing director for Fiat and ex-strategic planning director for Yahoo France is taking over as head of AutoScout24.
“AutoScout24 is a great brand and a European leader with huge potential for development in the French market,” Laffont said. “My mission which consists of perpetuating and accelerating that development allows me to bring together at the same time my passion and my past experience.”
AutoScout24 is the biggest car classifieds site in Germany and present in 13 European countries. In France it launched four years ago and has become the No. 3 car site and No. 1 pure player with nearly 2 million unique visits per month. The Scout24 brand is owned by Deutsche Telekom.
Hearst papers form Texas group, make exec changes
Six Hearst newspapers in Texas have formed the Hearst Texas Media Group to streamline cooperation and operations between them.
Jack Sweeney, publisher and president of flagship Houston Chronicle, is the new group’s president. Tom Stephenson, publisher and president of the San Antonio Express-News, is the group’s new GM. Bill Offill, who was EVP of advertising, circulation and marketing at the Chronicle, becomes the group publisher of Hearst’s other papers in Texas: the Beaumont Enterprise, Laredo Morning Times, Midland Reporter-Telegram and Plainview Daily Herald.
Offill takes the helm as publisher of the Enterprise, about 100 miles east of Houston and about 60 miles closer to his hometown of Lake Charles, La.
Stephen Weis, EVP of the Houston Chronicle, will also head advertising and digital services for the group.
