Sports-car fan site adds social networking
Rennteam.com, a sports-car fan site based in Germany, has launched social-networking services that allow fans to upload their own content and interact with one another "thus uniting sports car fans from around the world," according to a company release.
That is, we suppose, if you're fans of Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
Touting itself as the "first global" social networking site for sports-car fans, the site supports news, forums and photos. While the site says it supports links to YouTube video, we didn't find any (aren't sports cars supposed to *move*?) And while you can exchange contact information, you can't exchange pink slips. What good is a sports-car site if you can't put yours up for sale?
The site's been around since 2002 and claims 13,000 members. The forums are quite active; there were more than 8,000 posts in the past month.
