    Alibaba chairman speaks out against Google

    Judge: Craigslist, EBay should have resolved conflict

    GEORGETOWN, Del. --- Testimony in the trial of EBay v. Craigslist concluded on Thursday with a mild admonition from the judge, who said the two companies should have been able to work out their differences before resorting to legal remedies. “There has to be a better way to resolve an issue like this other than the law,” said Delaware Chancery Court Judge William B. Chandler III, who will render a verdict some time in the New Year.

    Buckmaster: EBay didn’t mention intent to compete

    GEORGETOWN, Del. – Prior to its purchase of a minority share, EBay never mentioned its intent to compete in domestic and international classifieds, Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster testified in the trial of EBay v. Craigslist, which entered its second week in Delaware Chancery Court. “We didn’t want to select a party that intended to compete with us as a partner, shareholder and board member,” said Buckmaster.
