Workopolis, the big Canadian job-site company owned by Toronto Star Newspapers and the newspaper publisher Gesca, has teamed up with Rogers Publishing, Canada’s biggest publisher of consumer and business magazines, to launch the first phase of dedicated online b-to-b job sites.

The recently launched sites cover a broad base of industry and include:

The companies said they plan to launch 28 more niche job sites soon.

“This partnership will not only address the growing needs of job posters to reach hard-to-find candidates, but it will also open up new career opportunities for all Canadians in specialized fields,” said Patrick Sullivan, president of Workopolis. “This move reinforces our clear leadership position as the country’s biggest job site and enables us to reach an even greater number of Canada’s online users.”

“This is a significant partnership between two market leaders,” said John Milne, SVP of Rogers Business and Professional Publishing. “Our millions of readers will benefit from this new access to countless professional growth opportunities.”

In January, Workopolis bought BrainHunter’s North American niche job-board business.
