EBay reports Q308 results: revenue up 12 percent

EBay today reported financial results for its third quarter ending last month. Revenue was up $228 million from the same period last year to $2.12 billion. That’s a healthy 12 percent increase, but growth at the company’s core auction business was only 4 percent, generating $1.37 billion. 53 percent of EBay’s revenue came from outside the U.S.
