New York’s Cablevision and Newsday are pooling listings to create a new cross platform automotive classified service.
Cablevision’s “Optimum Autos” interactive TV and online auto classifieds services are being integrated with the print and online auto classified services of its newspaper property, Newsday (which serves the Long Island, New York area).
As part of the arrangement, Newsday will rebrand its print and online automotive sections as Optimum Autos.
Adicio is powering the new motors site for Cablevision and Newsday.
Ken DePaola, Newsday’s EVP of sales and marketing called it “the region’s premier multimedia automotive portal and resource (providing) our advertising customers with the best of all worlds: maximum coverage across print, interactive and cable TV platforms, easy-to-use technology for uploading, searching and reporting, and a customizable local environment.”
The partnership follows up the recent launch of Newsday TV, an interactive channel that allows Cablevision’s customers to subscribe to the newspaper via their remote control.
The launch will be supported by an advertising and marketing campaign in Newsday, on cable TV, and on the Internet.
