Move.com has appointed Steven Berkowitz as CEO. He succeeds Mike Long, who is retiring from both the company and the board after seven years at the helm.
Move.com’s chairman Joe Hanauer credited Long as “leading the company through a very difficult turnaround,” referring to the former Homestore.com’s financial scandal that led to the conviction of former CEO Stuart Wolff.
Berkowitz has been on the Move.com board since June 2008. He was formerly CEO of Ask.com and before that president and COO of IDG Books. His most recent gig was at Microsoft where he was SVP of the company’s online services from 2006 to 2008.
