Hearst cuts deal to source user-gen freelance content

For the last several years, user-generated content site Helium has amassed 1.2 million articles on topics from sports to spirituality. The site pays contributors based on page views and helps budding journalists bid on assignments from publishers.

The service just took a big step forward when Hearst announced it will partner with Helium to source content for its newspapers.
