Motorpress’ weekly car magazine Autohoje has launched a new online TV project in Portugal.

According to multimedia manager Alexandre Rodrigues, Autohoje TV is different from Motorpress’ previous video initiatives, since the new content is completely editorially driven, rather than a mix of editorial and user-generated videos. The new platform includes daily live video streams with news, car tests and sports from all over the world.

Motorpress, the leading car magazine publisher in Spain and Portugal, intends to broadcast video ads through the channel. “The online video streaming option is one of the alternative marketing models automotive brands are looking for at this moment,” said Rodrigues. “Nowadays, you can’t place videos on YouTube and hope business develops. There has to be some new more creative form of communication with online users.”

The investment cost Motorpress Ibérica about “€35,000 to €40,000.”
