Tech jobs site Dice.com is reporting a 45 percent year over year drop in available technology jobs for March. The drop, as reported by Thomas Weisel Partners, is the highest annual drop Dice has seen so far this year. February’s listings were down 40.4 percent and January’s jobs dropped 39.3 percent year over year. In Q109, available tech jobs declined 41.4 year over year on Dice.com.

Dice said Silicon Valley was hit the worst, with available tech jobs down 57.7 percent year over year. Chicago and Boston were next, both down by 55.3 percent. We reported earlier on The Conference Board’s estimate that monthly job demand dropped by 100,000 in March, down 31 percent year over year.
