Prundo just announced its robust local coupon site for automotive service and repair. There is no charge to download coupons from for local tune-ups, radiator repair, aid conditioning services and so forth. All it takes is free registration. Described as “Expedia for auto repair” the site offers views of auto repair shops by zip code, review of special offers, coupon alerts, comparison of offers, user ranking and feedback of the local shops, and distance and directions to a consumer’s chosen auto repair shop.

“The mission of our company is to make auto reapirs easy for our members and remove any doubts they may have,” said Prundo CEO Alka Gupta, in the announcement. “We want to help our members get better service on auto repairs and save money at the same time.”

We gave the site a try and quickly found a $15-off coupon for a much-needed car battery, from the Firestone dealer right down the street as well as a 10 percent off coupon from a nearby Midas to replace our radiator. It took about two minutes to register and find both.

In talking with Alka Gupta this morning we learned that the site launched approximately four months ago and now has 600 members. It is monetized by the auto repair firms who pay to join Prundo. As of this writing the site’s coupons are valued at $127,437 and consumers have saved $46,236.
