Urban Interns, a recruitment site for part time work, launched its beta in New York City in February. Owners Lauren Porat, an IAC veteran, and attorney Cari Sommer, are bootstrapping the startup. It was just named to Business Week’s “America’s Most Promising Startups” list.

Urban Interns aims to link small businesses with students and graduates who seek part time work. Matches are made according to hours a job seeker is available, the tasks of each job, and whether it’s a paid or unpaid internship.

Free to both employers and job candidates, the site will expand to other areas, and will start charging hiring managers in the coming months.
