The employment index from Monster Canada was up by 6 points for Q309, although the total number of online listings is 26 lower than the same quarter of 2008. Still, it was the second consecutive rise recorded by the Monster Employment Index Canada.
Eight of 10 job categories tracked showed increased demand over the quarter.
“The Monster Employment Index has increased for a second consecutive quarter and reflects significant increases in online recruitment across the country,” said Peter Gilfillan, SVP of international sales and GM of Monster Canada. “While hiring activity by Canadian employers remains lower than a year ago, it continues to show clear gains that are encouraging as we head into the fourth quarter.”
