Morris Publishing to enter bankuptcy protection

Morris Publishing Group, a subsidiary of Morris Communications, LLC, just announced it will file bankrupcy protection no later than Jan. 19.

Morris tried and failed to obtain the support of its creditors for a debt-swap proposal. Now three fourths of these creditors are in support of its bankruptcy proceedings. In all, 13 newspapers are involved,  including Morris flagship The Augus
