Global magazine publisher Conde Nast just announced that Gina Sanders will be the next president of Fairchild Fashion Group. Sanders will oversee Women’s Wear Daily, Footwear News, Fairchild Summits, Fairchild Books and their Web sites, effective Feb. 1.

“Gina is a strategic business leader with strong fashion, beauty, and retail experience,” said Charles Townsend, president and CEO of Conde Nast, in the announcement. “I look to her to leverage the FFG assets and to grow the company’s vitality in the marketplace.”
 
Sanders, a 20+ year veteran of Conde Nast, has been publisher of several of its titles. Her recent position was VP and publisher of Lucky.  Her kudos are numerous, and include Adweek Magazine’s venerable Hot List for 2006 and 2007, Ad Age’s A-List 2005, Adweek Magazine’s 2005 “10 Under 50” List and Adweek Magazine’s 2004 Startup of the Year. In 2005, Sanders was named Condé Nast’s Publisher of the Year.
 
Condé Nast, a division of Advance Publications, operates in 24 countries, In the U.S. it publishes eighteen consumer magazines, two trade publications and twenty-seven Web sites.
