Kijiji Autos in Canada has grown rapidly in the last two years, from just a few people on staff to a team of 20 today. And the site’s focus has changed too – from an inventory heavily weighted towards cars five years and older from small independent dealers and private sellers, to late model cars and trucks from a growing number of big name franchised dealers.

These were a couple of the take-aways from an interview with Ryan Thompson, national sales manager on the Kijiji Autos team, that appeared in Canadian Auto Dealer.

Thompson says that Kijiji now has account managers and dedicated sales force to service dealers in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec. The latter, along with British Columbia will be targeted in the coming months. 1,500 franchised dealers now list on Kijiji, he added.

Kijiji has also started offering dealers online webinars to train them in how to best use social media and Kijiji’s ad tools on the site itself.
