Twitter rumored to be launching geo-targeted ads by year end

If AdAge's sources are right,  by the end of 2013, Twitter mobile app users will be served up rental-community listings as they walk or drive by an apartment community, dinner specials as they bike past a restaurant, and discounts on auto service or sales when they cruise past the dealership, for example.  Right now targeting is available specific to metro area, but not even as specific as zip cod
