After years of agent consternation over Zillow and Trulia’s business models and alleged listing inaccuracies, multiple brokers and MLSs are jumping on board the marketing programs of these two listing giants, in trade-outs that gives the third-party sites access to local MLSs, and the brokers and agents premium marketing services on Zillow and / or Trulia. As of July, Zillow Pro for Brokers has more than 100 broker members, while Re/Max, RealtyOne Group and Coldwell Banker Prime Properties of New York have all signed on with Trulia Pro.

The latest collaboration is between Zillow and Northern Calif.’s nearly-7,500-member Bay Area Real Estate Information Services

SEATTLE, July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Zillow, Inc. (NASDAQ: Z), the leading real estate and home-related information marketplace, today announced that Bay Area Real Estate Information Services, a multiple listing service in Northern California, has joined the Zillow® Partnership Platform and will begin providing up-to-date listing data directly to the Zillow Real Estate Network.

The Zillow Partnership Platform was developed to help multiple listing services, brokerages and Zillow work together to display accurate, complete and timely listing information. BAREIS MLS’s nearly 7,500 members are participating in the program, which feeds MLS data directly to Zillow as often as every 15 minutes, ensuring that current, active listings always are up to date, correct and in sync with the MLS data.

“Zillow believes strongly that brokers should exercise control over their strategic listing syndication decisions and partner with publishers who share their commitment to accurate and timely listing information,” said Bob Bemis, Zillow vice president of partner relations. “The Zillow Partnership Platform strives to eliminate the confusion associated with stale data, lagging price changes and incorrect statuses. We’re pleased to add BAREIS MLS to the growing list of MLSs that share our desire to achieve those goals.”

“Zillow is a major source in providing a wide range of real estate-related information to consumers, and one used widely by the general public to find real estate for sale and the real estate professionals representing the properties. It makes perfect sense that we would work with Zillow to make sure the listings of our sellers, agents and brokers are as up to date and accurate as we can possibly make them,” said BAREIS MLS CEO Jim Branscombe. “We applaud Zillow’s efforts to increase accuracy of our listings, while at the same time helping to maximize the exposure of properties for sale in our region.”

The Zillow Partnership Platform applies to all renewal and future MLS and broker contracts. Each real estate professional partner will have a dedicated Zillow account executive to address concerns and quickly solve problems. To learn more about the platform, email  or call 206-757-4250.
