AOL gives up on Patch – almost

16 Jan 2014While Patch.com is still alive though not well, owner AOL has walked away from complete ownership of Patch. The struggling Tim Armstrong dream child, once made up of more than 900 local news and advertising sites, is now part of a joint venture in which New York investment firm Hale Global has a much bigger piece of the pie than does AOL. According to
