Canadians leading U.S. CRE investors

The greatest volume of international investment in U.S. commercial real estate  (CRE) comes from Canada. Last year, according to The News Funnel, Canadians invested $12 billion in commercial property in the U.S.

U.S.  CRE is attractive to Canadians for two reasons:

  • The real estate market in Canada is softening
  • The U.S. is easily accessible

Sharon Hill has been a senior writer / analyst with the AIM Group since 2004, except for a two-year time-out to serve as sales and marketing manager for Suburban Newspapers of America.
