EBay to lay off thousands?

As a result of its PayPal spin off the rumor is that EBay will be laying off thousands of employees.  The Wall Street Journal was told by a source that EBay Marketplace would lay off 10 percent of its workforce, which would amount to at least 3,000 people.

“The planned layoffs appear to be part of EBay’s preparations to be a stand-alone company, and a potentially attractive takeover target,”
